A new Marvel tease has fans connecting the dots. Kevin Feige may have hinted at another MCU crossover before Doomsday. The Marvel Studios president recently spoke about a known character while discussing upcoming films. His comments have fueled speculation that the character will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the only MCU movie arriving before Avengers: Doomsday.

Speaking during an appearance at BiliBili World in Shanghai, Feige praised Yelena’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He said fans should look forward to her major role in Avengers: Doomsday, but then added another intriguing clue: “If you don’t want to wait until then, you might see Yelena a little bit sooner in the movies.” Since Spider-Man: Brand New Day is Marvel’s only theatrical release before Doomsday, many fans believe Feige was referring to that film.
Florence Pugh first debuted as Yelena Belova in Black Widow before returning in Hawkeye and later joining the team formerly known as the Thunderbolts. That group officially became the New Avengers at the end of its latest movie, setting Yelena up as one of the MCU’s key heroes heading into Doomsday. Feige also shared a remark from Robert Downey Jr. about taking on Victor Von Doom, recalling that the actor told him, “I played the best hero. I can play the best villain.”
While Marvel continues to keep most story details under wraps, Spider-Man: Brand New Day already features a packed lineup. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.
New cast members include Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, Eman Esfandi and Marvin Jones III. Script excerpts previously shared with Entertainment Weekly also hint that Peter begins the story isolated and under growing physical and emotional strain after the events of No Way Home.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, while Avengers: Doomsday follows in December.
