General Hospitaltook to social media to share a cast photo, celebrating its16,000th episodemilestone. The image featured new and familiar faces, with some notable members seemingly missing. July 13 is not just significant for the show’s milestone but also marks the return ofSteve Burton’s Jasonafter a hiatus.
General Hospital shares cast photo for 16,000th episode with new and old faces
General Hospital shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) featuring the cast posing around the milestone cake. The image included new additions to the roster, such as Dean Geyer (Tristan Roberts) and Kayden Brennan Tokarski (new Scout Cain). However, Kelly Kruger, who will play Serena Baldwin and debut on the show this month, did not appear in the photo.
Other notable names missing from the photo include Van Hansis, Jonathan Bennett, Amanda Setton, Jens Austin Astrup, Josh Kelly, and Genie Francis. Their filming schedules possibly kept them from being available on set.
The caption read, “Today’s episode of #GeneralHospital is the 16,000th produced since the show’s inception in 1963. It’s a milestone we couldn’t let pass by without taking some time to celebrate as a family (and, of course… eating some cake). We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”
The GH’s 16,000th episode will feature Burton’s Jason being back. He was last seen in March 2026 and took a hiatus to spend some time with his family. His storyline will continue following his imprisonment for the shooting of a WSB agent. Head Writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten earlier revealed what could be expected from Jason’s storyline.
They said, “Jason returns from abroad a changed man. His imprisonment has had a profound effect on his outlook and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life. His decision will have big implications for Danny, Britt, the Quartermaines, Anna, and especially Sonny” (viaSoap Opera Digest). The milestone episode will also mark Anna and Valentin’s reunion. It will also welcome Dr. Tristan Roberts.
