The restaurant at the Trump National Golf Club Washington D.C. has been hit with a string of health code violations, including a swarm of flies and storing food at the incorrect temperatures, according to a report.
Health officials in Loudon County, Virginia, visited the clubhouse restaurant located in Sterling on June 30, where an inspector “observed a large quantity of small flies in the storage room near the employee restrooms,” according to the inspection report obtained by NOTUS.
In the club’s grill restaurant, the inspector noted the property was using and storing “pest control products not designed for use in a food establishment, health records indicate,” the outlet reports.

The inspector flagged safety issues with the temperature at which food was being stored at the more casual restaurant. Blue cheese was found stored at 54 degrees Fahrenheit, sausage links at 51 degrees, and sausage patties at 49 degrees, which should all be stored at 41 degrees or less.
“The person-in-charge voluntarily discarded the blue cheese and sausage,” the inspector wrote.

The restaurant’s outdoor pizza operation also “lacks adequate handwashing or warewashing capacity,” the report said.
In a statement to NOTUS, the golf club dismissed the health inspection’s findings.
“We operate our properties to the highest health and safety standards. These so-called ‘violations’ are fabricated, politically motivated and completely without merit,” the statement said. “We stand firmly behind the integrity of our operations and reject these baseless claims.”

The Independent has contacted the club and Loudon County for further comment.
Trump golfed at the D.C. club last weekend.
It follows a report that county health inspectors in New York also found a slew of issues at Trump’s Westchester golf club in March, including the presence of “insects and rodents.”

Westchester County Department of Health officials found not only the presence of pests at Trump National Golf Club, but a variety of other issues ranging from ventilation problems to improperly stored food, according to county records.
The general manager of the club said the report was “clearly nothing more than a politically motivated attack.”
Initiation fees at the New York club can range between $50,000 and $100,000, and the annual fee is approximately $15,000, according to TrumpGolfTracker, a blog that tracks Trump’s golf outings and properties.

The figures are estimates based on media reports and public information, as the club does not publicly post its fees.
