Scott Bryce’s son, Jackson, confirmed on social media that his father has died at age 68. He also revealed the cause of death while reflecting on the actor’s legacy and remembering him as a supportive father. Bryce was best known for playing Craig Montgomery in As the World Turns.

Jackson took to Instagram to share a series of pictures of Bryce with him and his family, along with stills from his movies, alongside a lengthy, heartfelt note. He revealed that Bryce died after a long battle with cancer. He said that he was diagnosed with stage three esophageal cancer, which spread and became brain tumors, which took his life.
Jackson wrote, referring to his final moments, “Through radiation, chemo and immunotherapy, and every moment of pain, I watched my dad face it all with pride and courage, and an unshakable belief that somehow, everything would work out and he would win. Even just a week before he passed, while battling brain tumors, slurred speech and blurry vision, he looked me in the eyes as clear as he could and told me he still believed he had a chance—and that he was willing to fight as hard as it took.” Jackson then honored him with kind words, speaking about Bryce’s acting legacy and how he was as a father. Moreover, he also briefly noted his favorite memories with his father before concluding his note with “Until we meet again.”
Bryce debuted on TV with a 4-episode role in The Facts of Life in 1988. While As the World Turns gained him massive recognition, he’s also known for guest starring in other popular projects such as Matlock, Sex and the City, Gossip Girl, The Blacklist, and FBI. Moreover, he also appeared as Senator Tom in Beacon Hill, Frank Drexler in Deception, Mike McQueen in Popular, and Will Forrest in Murphy Brown.
