There will be no league punishment coming for Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro following their altercation in Las Vegas last week.
The NBA said in a statement, per ESPN’s Sams Charania, that all parties involved are moving on from the incident.
“After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league.”
Adebayo and Herro were teammates with the Miami Heat from 2019-26. Herro, who was dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne earlier this week that he wants to “move on” from the incident and is “focused on the next chapter in Milwaukee.”
Neither team issued a comment about what happened.
Last Friday, The Athletic reported that Herro and Adebayo went at it inside a gym at Resorts World Casino in front of Herro’s AAU team in Las Vegas. The Heat and Bucks played one another that afternoon. Witnesses reported that Herro said something to Adebayo as Adebayo walked onto the courts. Adebayo then approached Herro and reportedly punched him. Herro’s AAU coach confronted Adebayo as Herro yelled at his former Miami teammate as he was escorted away by security personnel.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the dust up occurred after Herro was approached by Adebayo about criticism he lobbied at Adebayo after their time together with the Heat came to an end.
The NBA will announces its 2026-27 schedule in August, meaning we will know when the first on-court meeting between Herro’s Bucks and Adebayo’s Heat will take place and if any of the bad blood will remain.
