Josh Lucas is the latest addition to a high-stakes legal thriller packed with secrets. The Yellowstone star joins an already star-studded cast led by Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning in a new series exploring the sinister side of corporate silence.

The series, titled Discretion, landed at Paramount+ with a straight-to-series order following a bidding war. Production on the eight-episode drama begins later this year, with a launch expected next year. As per Deadline, Josh Lucas will play Greg, whose personal and professional lives collide in dangerous ways. Described as “a lawyer and the husband of Kidman’s powerful and formidable corporate law partner at the same firm entangled in a dark web of NDAs.”
The synopsis of Discretion reads, “Lenny (Fanning), a summer associate at a prestigious Dallas law firm, uncovers a web of NDAs masking a dark truth. When she realizes she signed the same agreement, her discoveries put her in the crosshairs of the firm’s most powerful female partner Sharon (Kidman)—upending their mentor-protégé dynamic and raising the question: who gets to keep secrets, and at what cost?”
Chandler Baker, author of the original short story, writes and executive adapts. Susannah Grant also serves as executive producer. Nicole Kidman and Per Saari executive produce through Blossom Films, while Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, and Brittany Kahan Ward do the same for Lewellen Pictures. Joe Hipps of Cut To and Jordan Cerf of Linden Entertainment round out the executive producing team. A24 serves as the studio.
Lucas brings a considerable resume to the role. He recently appeared opposite Kristen Wiig in Apple TV’s Palm Royale and gained more recognition playing a young John Dutton in Yellowstone. His film credits include Ford v Ferrari, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Sweet Home Alabama.
Discretion was the first major acquisition for Paramount+ following Skydance’s takeover of Paramount. With Kidman leading a cast that now features Lucas, the series itself is anticipated as a must-watch legal thriller for the platform’s evolving slate.
