A costume displayed atSan Diego Comic-Con 2026has ignited debate about a new witch in Avengers: Doomsday.Marvel Studiosexhibited the outfit alongside other Doomsday props, giving attendees a first glimpse at a character never before seen on screen.
The first look at a Latverian Witch in Avengers: Doomsday
Photos of the costume are being circulated.Marvellabels the character the “Latverian Witch.” In the display, the model stands framed against a stained-glass window, wrapped head-to-toe in attire that unmistakably echoes Doctor Doom’s visual language.
Green robes flow from shoulder to floor, fastened with metallic clasps. A hood drapes over the head, partially obscuring a silver face mask. Unlike Doom’s heavily detailed facial covering, this mask strips back the ornamentation and instead sculpts more defined lips at the base.
Meanwhile, a green belt cinches the waist, its buckle featuring a silver diamond motif whose meaning remains unexplained. Silver gloves finish the look, a faint pattern barely visible across the back of each hand.
Naturally, fans immediately connected the reveal to Elizabeth Olsen. The actor has stayed absent from the MCU since Wanda Maximoff’s apparent death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). A growing chorus of theorists now argues this Latverian Witch represents her return — not as the Sokovian-born Avenger, but as a variant recruited directly by Doom.
Under this theory, the version would swap Sokovian heritage for Latverian roots. Doom, himself a practitioner of sorcery in the comics, could weaponize her reality-bending chaos magic to accelerate his multiversal campaign. Additionally, Marvel unveiled a Doctor Doom action figure with red energy attachments, a color long associated with Wanda’s powers.
Separately, other insiders claim Doom will enter Avengers: Doomsday as a family man, positioning the Latverian Witch as his wife. Her early death, according to these rumors, could shatter his composure and drive his destructive rampage across realities.
