Amazon Prime Video’s new TV and movie releases for the week of July 27 to August 2, 2026, include Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 and Primate.
Batman: Caped Crusader focuses on the detective noir aspects of the superhero. The series showcases a young Bruce Wayne during the early stages of his battle against crime. It features a voice cast of Hamish Linklater, Jason Watkins, Krystal Joy Brown, Eric Morgan Stuart, John DiMaggio, Gary Anthony Williams, and many others in key roles. The show received positive reviews, with an IMDb rating of 7.2/10 and a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season 2 adds Matthew Needham to voice the Joker. Michelle C. Bonilla also expressed excitement in April 2026 about her return as Renee Montoya in the upcoming season. “Yes, there’s a season two… and it’s getting all shiny and wrapped in a bow,” she told Nerdtropolis.
She also talked about the emotional experience of seeing the early Season 2 animation. “I’m crying because it’s so beautiful… the colors and everything,” the actress commented.
Also coming to Prime Video is the natural horror film, Primate. It follows Lucy, whose tropical island homecoming takes a dangerous turn when her family’s chimpanzee, Ben, contracts rabies. He becomes violent, leaving Lucy and her friends to fight for survival. The star cast features Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander, Troy Kotsur, Victoria Wyant, and many others in important roles. It mostly received positive reviews and grossed $41 million worldwide.
