Brandon Sklenar’s F.A.S.T. release date moves from April to May 2027
Warner Bros. Pictures has officially movedF.A.S.T.from its original April 23 release date to May 14, 2027. The studio confirmed the schedule change as part of a press release updating its 2027 release calendar. Meanwhile, Ben Richardson directs the action thriller from a screenplay by Taylor Sheridan.
The film follows a former special forces commando tapped by the DEA for a dangerous mission. Specifically, he leads a black op strike team targeting CIA-protected drug dealers operating in his town. Brandon Sklenar plays the commando at the center of the story.
Additionally, Juliana Canfield stars as the female lead opposite Sklenar in the project. LaKeith Stanfield, Jason Clarke, Sam Claflin, and Trevante Rhodes round out the ensemble cast. Furthermore, Wilson Bethel, John Hoogenakker, and Chloe Coleman also appear in supporting roles.
David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford produce through Heyday Films alongside Sheridan and Jenny Wood. Together, Sheridan and Wood produce through the Bosque Ranch Productions banner. Notably, Sheridan originally wrote the script in the mid-2010s before Warner Bros. acquired the rights in 2018.
At that time, the studio initially eyed Chris Pratt to star with Sheridan himself planning to direct. However, Gavin O’Connor later joined as director in 2019 before the project stalled completely. Ultimately, AT&T raised concerns about theatrically releasing a film budgeted around $60–70 million.
Eventually, Warner Bros. revived F.A.S.T. in May 2025 with Richardson set for his feature directorial debut. Principal photography then began in August 2025 in New Rochelle, New York. The production later moved to Murcia, Spain, for additional filming in November 2025.
The May 2027 date now places F.A.S.T. in the early summer corridor for Warner Bros. Pictures. Sklenar continues building his leading-man profile after recent high-profile projects. Corrin Hodgson serves as cinematographer on the film.
