Одоогийн байдлаар Crucial P510 загварын 1 TB багтаамжтай SSD-г Amazon Germany сайтаар 174 ам.доллароор худалдаалж байна. It’s tough going for anyone looking to upgrade or replace their SSD in today’s market. Prices are higher than ever and you’d have to be pretty lucky to find some sucka still selling for yesteryear’s price tags. What I’m highlighting today isn’t a historically good deal, but it is a decent one by today’s standards. It sucks, but if you really need an SSD right now, this would make a mighty boot drive.

Amazon includes import duties, taxes and fees in the price at checkout, and with free international delivery and $15.42 in added tax for a shipping address in New York, the total comes to $189.21. As far as I’ve seen, that’s still the cheapest name-brand PCIe 5.0 SSD out there. It’s even cheaper than some lesser-known brands.
The Crucial P510 would make for a great boot drive, with seq. read speeds up to 11,000 MB/s and seq. write speeds up to 8,500 MB/s. On all counts, higher than a comparable PCIe 4.0 drive. And we have spotted a few of those on offer as of late—again, for higher than usual prices due to the memory crisis, but comparable cheaper than most—with the Biwin NV7400 being the best among them for price/performance. That’s still $175 for 1 TB.
The 1 TB capacity for this P510 is far from ideal. We used to prefer 2 TB for most use cases, even a boot drive, but the memory crisis has swiftly curbed our expectations. Those cost a whole lot more these days: roughly $251, which is actually less cash per GB than most 1 TB. So, if you’re feeling frivolous…
We’re definitely going to see these Crucial drives dry up eventually. Micron, who owns the Crucial brand, killed it when the memory crisis started kicking off. For anyone that doesn’t know, the memory crisis is caused by huge AI spend on all types of memory, from the NAND used here to DDR5 used elsewhere in our PCs, and they’re not leaving any supply for the rest of us. Micron, one of the three big memory manufacturers, went all-in on enterprise and just killed the very popular Crucial brand off altogether. Boo!

Nowadays, even if we’re saving a pennies, it’s definitely overpriced. But if you need an boot drive imminently and you cannot wait for all this to blow over (that could take a while), it’s worth a look.
