Chelsea have made nine new additions to their squad so far in the ongoing transfer window but could soon need to sell some of their players in order to balance their accounts as well as have enough space to accommodate recent signings.
Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson are on the chopping board as the Blues look for buyers for both forwards, but interest is emerging in one of their best players from last season, Pedro Neto, who had 20 goal contributions in all competitions in 2025/26.
According to The Chelsea Chronicle, Arsenal and Liverpool are both keeping tabs on a transfer for Pedro Neto with the English giants looking to acquire a new winger and facing a race against time with the Premier League getting underway soon.
Neto has been slapped with a price tag of roughly £75 million, the source has added, but both interested parties would prefer an initial loan with more favourable purchase terms rather than paying a lofty asking fee upfront for the Portuguese international.
Liverpool likelier to sign Neto
Recently, Andoni Iraola acknowledged that Liverpool need to improve their squad depth and with several areas of their roster requiring signings, it remains to be seen how much they can spend on their chief attacking target, Bradley Barcola.
Moreover, Arsenal, who are in a position to afford a deal for the Paris Saint-Germain star, are now in the race to sign him and could hijack Liverpool’s transfer, therefore cooling their interest in Pedro Neto if they secure the Frenchman’s services.
Liverpool, however, could see Neto as a more cost-effective option, who can function on both flanks. His experience in the Premier League with Chelsea and previously at Wolverhampton Wanderers will give the Reds confidence about investing in him.
Given that Chelsea are not playing in next season’s Champions League, Liverpool would not only offer him a regular role but also the opportunity to play in the European competition, which might compel Neto into joining them this summer.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are prepared to spend £75 million directly on the 26-year-old or whether they remain firm on their idea of signing him on an initial loan deal.
