When Mat Armstrong let a yellow Porsche GT3 RS loose on a track, its raw power was nothing short of jaw-dropping.

The YouTuber said he was expecting a day of ‘pure Porsche power’.

With no mods, this was to be the car at its rawest and most authentic.

But it didn’t take long for things to take an interesting turn.

Things went awry with this Porsche GT3 RS

From his efforts fixing up a damaged Lamborghini Gallardo to his long-running saga with a Bugatti Veyron, it’s safe to say Armstrong has spent a lot of time around cars.

This time around, he was enjoying some time out on the track behind the wheel of a Porsche GT3 RS.

On early laps, the car felt ‘floaty’, which Armstrong and his team attributed to the older tires and issues with heat buildup.

But it was another car which really had issues – an orange Lamborghini Huracán, to be exact.

After three laps, the driver, Matthew, completely lost braking power as the pedal went straight to the floor.

“I did three laps and my brakes have gone… my foot went all the way to the floor. Oh my god. Absolutely nothing,” Matthew said.

“I had nothing else. I was a passenger.”

What had gone wrong with the Lamborghini Huracán?

Fortunately, the brakes giving out didn’t injure the driver and the car was left with only minor cosmetic scuffs – mostly mitigated by the paint protection film.

The primary issue was severe thermal brake fade caused by boiling brake fluid.

The fluid in the calipers had reached the boiling point and turned into gas.

This left the driver without hydraulic pressure.

Things didn’t get any better from there

Out on the track, Armstrong and his Porsche GT3 RS were continuing to wind around the curves at ease.

That made all the more embarrassing for Matthew and his Huracán out on the side of the track.

“These tires were black when we started,” one guy joked, as he stroked the greyish tires.

And this led to a whole host of unfavorable comparisons to other cars on the track like the Audi R8.

“I’ve been saying this since day one – the R8 is the best car in the world!” one man declared.

Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.

At least Armstrong got to enjoy the Porsche GT3 RS in its glory.
