SuperEvil Mega Corp is rolling out its biggest free content update for TMNT: Splintered Fate this August. The new update is primed to introduce a menacing new end-game villain to battle, a new pet companion, and more. The latest addition also marks the game’s 2.0 release.
The upcoming free update, titled The King’s Gambit, will introduce an ultimate end-game boss, Rat King. He only becomes accessible when players defeat Shredder multiple times and save Master Splinter, and his fight is a tough nut to crack.
The deadly villain can even summon other powerful bosses in the battle, which turns the battle into an intense test of skill. Beating the Rat King will unlock a new ending and finish the TMNT main campaign.
The update also adds Pepperoni, a dinosaur pet who joins the team as a loyal companion for free. Players can expect the friendly pet to cause some trouble by stealing pizza when no one is around.
Everything in TMNT: Splintered Fate August update
Alongside the Free August update, a new paid DLC will bring a new playable turtle character called Slash. The eighth playable character may be slower than other turtles, but his powerful punch packs a brute force that is enough to crush anyone. He has an affinity for Water and Ooze powers, and his DLC comes with five brand-new Artifacts.
Moreover, Slash has an Enraged mode that increases his speed while unleashing extra damage for a brief period. He also has a unique tool that can trigger a meteor-like explosion that deals Dark damage to close opponents. Slash unlocks after defeating Leatherhead. The Samurai Armor Pack unlocks new outfits for the original four Turtle and previously bought DLC characters. Players can equip the armor from the Character Select screen.
All of this paid content will also be made available as part of the new Platinum Bundle. That also includes every piece of paid DLC released so far alongside the freebies.
The new update will release on August 18, 2026. While the studio plans to release the retail Switch 2 Legendary Edition on October 27, it continues to bring new updates based on player demand.
