Even with an estimated value of around $20 million, the McLaren F1 is still a great car to add to the $40 million garage.
A 6.1-liter BMW V12 sits under the hood, and with 618hp the F1 is still the fastest naturally aspirated production car in the world.
Jaguar E-Type
Compared to the McLaren F1, the Jaguar E-Type is a bargain, with pristine examples selling for around $250,000.
Enzo Ferrari reportedly said the E-Type was ‘the most beautiful car in the world’, and it is easy to see why. Jaguar produced the E-Type from 1961 to 1974.
Toyota 2000GT
Think of the Toyota 2000GT as the Japanese version of the E-Type.
The 2000GT can sell for $800,000 or more, and one example sold for over $2 million.
Toyota’s 2000GT is a car everyone should have in their dream garage, as it is fast, stunning to look at, and incredibly rare.
Power came from a 2.0-liter and 2.3-liter inline-six, and the sports car produced up to 148hp.
First-generation Honda NSX – a car every dream garage should have
The first-generation Honda/Acura NSX is arguably one of the best supercars ever made.
The VTEC V6 engine under the hood became legendary, as did its prowess in the corners and reliability.
F1 legend Ayrton Senna even helped out in the development of the car.
The footage of him test-driving it in his loafers at Suzuka has become the stuff of legend.
First-generation NSXs can sell for as high as $450,000, with an average of around $140,000.
Bugatti EB110
The only car built while Romano Artioli owned the company, the Bugatti EB110 is one of the greatest supercars of the 1990s.
Its power came from a huge 3.5-liter quad-turbocharged V12 engine, producing up to 603hp in the Super Sport version.
The most an EB110 has sold for is $1.9 million, highlighting how sought-after these cars are.
Jaguar XJ220
The Jaguar XJ220 is another 1990s legend, and it is fast too, with a top speed of 217mph.
Power came from a twin-turbocharged JRV-V6 engine, and it produced up to 500hp and 475lb-ft of torque.
It might not have had the V12 engine of the concept car, but the XJ220 was still a monster.
Small wonder they sell for well over $500,000.
Fiat Multipla – the weirdest dream garage car?
Okay, hear us out on this one, but we think the Fiat Multipla should be in anyone’s dream garage.
Is it ugly? Yes. Is it completely crazy? Also yes.
But the original Fiat Multipla has got character and is arguably misunderstood.
