President Donald Trump touted the power of his political endorsements as the midterm elections loom on the American political calendar.
In an early-morning Truth Social post alongside graphs, Trump wrote: “My Endorsements are stronger than ever — Not to mention the fact that good people are getting elected who never had the chance!”
He added: “Here is an accurate list of the last number of seasons. There has never been anything close! It is an Honor that I take very seriously. The few that lost were done out of loyalty. It was almost impossible for them to win but, I felt obligated to go with them because they were, in my opinion, good people!”
The graphs suggest Trump’s endorsements achieved a 97% success rate across congressional, Senate, and gubernatorial races from 2018 to 2026.
Last week, Rep. Ralph Norman called it a “head scratcher” that Trump endorsed Sen. Darline Graham in South Carolina’s Republican Senate runoff, stating his own legislative and business background — and votes for Trump’s agenda — made him better qualified to replace the late Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Trump rose to prominence as an outsider leading a “Make America Great Again” movement seeking to dismantle the political establishment.
Now atop that very establishment, questions linger over what occurs when he supports an insider candidate.
In Alabama, that choice succeeded. Trump backed U.S. Rep. Barry Moore, a three-term congressman promising to be “a warrior for President Trump’s ‘America First’ agenda” if elected to the Senate.
Moore defeated former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, an outsider who sought to harness anti-establishment energy to defeat Trump’s chosen contender.
With Alabama being a GOP stronghold, the primary victor remains heavily favored in November.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville, the GOP nominee for governor, is vacating the Senate seat.
In Georgia, State Rep. Tim Fleming won the Republican nomination for Georgia secretary of state in July over Vernon Jones, who focused heavily on conspiracies regarding Trump’s loss to Joe Biden.
They competed to replace Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who rejected Trump’s unproven election fraud claims and his demand to “find 11,780 votes” six years ago.
Jones cited 2020 “irregularities” and “violations,” adding he stands “with those who believe there was election fraud.” Three of his four platform pillars addressed election management, including tighter voter identification rules.
Fleming approached the issue carefully, noting “irregularities” in 2020 while asserting he is “not running on conspiracy theories.” Yet four of seven platform items on his site targeted election management, with one promising to “make it impossible for the Left to cheat in our elections.”
Fleming will face Democrat Penny Brown Reynolds.
