OKTAGON’s Will Fleury isn’t happy with the way he lost his light heavyweight belt.
In 2025, Fleury became a simultaneous two-division champion in the promotion following a rapid rise through their ranks.
The UFC were urged to sign Fleury to their roster after he knocked out Martin Buday to continue defying expectations with his run.
However, his win streak came to an end last month, and the Irishman believes that he hasn’t been given a fair shake both during and after the bout.

Will Fleury criticizes the way his controversial stoppage loss was handled at OKTAGON 92
On August 1, Makhmud Muradov stopped Will Fleury in the second round after stepping into the main event on short notice.
The former UFC fighter won the OKTAGON light heavyweight title by producing a comeback of the year contender, having been badly hurt in the first round.
Fleury has been critical of his opponent’s reaction since the fight via social media following their meeting inside the cage in Prague.
While the former champion believes that what he’s done in the promotion and how reliable he’s been means he should get a rematch, he also thinks the fight itself makes this the logical next step.
Fleury explained in a recent interview with Bloody Elbow that he immediately protested the referee’s stoppage at OKTAGON 92 after making the right decisions to protect himself.
“When he misses the fifth [punch], I body lock him and pull him onto his hands and that’s when the referee decides to jump in,” he said. “So, from the point of view of that, very p—– off with how it happened that way.”

Fleury even made the case that there was more of a case that the fight should have been stopped when he had Muradov hurt than when the roles were reversed.
While he doesn’t regret taking this matchup on short notice, the Irishman has been left incredibly frustrated by both the stoppage and the way that it’s been handled in the aftermath of the event.
“He [the referee] has to pin me down to the ground so I can’t stand up so it [the stoppage] doesn’t look terrible for him,” Fleury added. “There’s a lot here that I’m fully aware of that maybe not everybody else is that I’m very, very bitter and angry about.
“If you give me the chance to put it right, grand, I’ll shut the f— up and I’ll play the game, but you’re not giving me the chance to put this right. So now I’m going to have to start f—— getting s—– with you and if that happens, it’s s— for everyone.”
