Final Fantasy VII Revelation has officially received a release date alongside a brand-new trailer. The third and final installment in the remake trilogy is developed and published by Square Enix.
Players on various platforms, including PlayStation 5, will get to enjoy Final Fantasy VII Revelation on April 8, 2027.
An official description for the upcoming game reads, “In the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake project, the scale has never been larger and the stakes have never been higher. Take to the skies and explore a boundless world, fight alongside a fully assembled party, master strategic and dynamic combat, and prepare yourself for the climactic finale.”
Final Fantasy VII Revelation expands exploration and combat with major new features
During the September 3 PlayStation State of Play broadcast, Square Enix revealed an extended gameplay look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation and teased exciting new features and intriguing systems.
In the next installment, players will be able to explore every corner of a truly open and expanded planet aboard the iconic Highwind airship. They will get to see the warrior nation of Wutai for the first time and check in on familiar locales like Gongaga.
Alongside the iconic familiar faces such as Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Yuffie, Red XIII, and Cait Sith, the game will also introduce two new playable characters, Cid and Vincent.
As for the combat, Final Fantasy VII Revelation will introduce the FITS system. It bestows new abilities and greater heights of power through the specialized roles of Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. Also, the FITS dramatically change party members’ abilities and combat functions, creating new tactical possibilities.
The overall gameplay experience can be customized in various ways. Players can choose to swap their controlled character at any time and choose which party members undertake certain quests. These choices will also affect how specific story events and gameplay scenarios unfold.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will release on April 8, 2027, for PS5 alongside Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
