Fans think that Jason and Britt’s relationship could come to an end, following the direction the General Hospital storyline is taking. Co-head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten also teased this. Both characters first crossed paths in 2021. During that time, they shared a brief yet memorable romance storyline. Now, their storyline has entered a similar territory, but this time, the relationship faces a greater risk from within.
What’s next for Jason and Britt on General Hospital?
Jason and Britt’s bond could be significantly affected if the latter’s bid for Cullum comes back to threaten her. This could make both their lives difficult, and they may not be able to stay together. In a conversation with TV Insider, Korte and Van Etten shared an update on the direction Britt and Jason’s story is headed.
They said, “He’s going to do right by Danny [Morgan,Asher Antonyzyn] — he’s putting his criminal past behind him and looking to a new, if uncertain future. Britt [Westbourne,Kelly Thiebaud] and Jason have come a long way and fought a lot of enemies to be together. But the most stubborn obstacle to their happiness isn’t without, it’s within.”
They added, “Decisions Britt made to stay alive while under [Ross] Cullum’s [Andrew Hawkes] thumb will come back to haunt her and may prove too difficult for this unlikely couple to survive.”
Jason and Britt’s story dates back to 2021. Peter August framed Jason for the murder of Franco Baldwin, which led to his imprisonment. At the time, Cyrus had plans to kill Jason. But Carly wanted to keep him safe, so she asked Shawn to stab Jason. This dangerous move by Carly was not to harm Jason but rather to bring him to the hospital so that he could escape.
During that time, Britt was present and was also against Cyrus, often challenging his demands. Britt met Jason, and they then discussed gathering evidence against Cyrus. Britt also helped Jason escape from the hospital at the time. However, Jason came back to rescue Britt when he learned she was in danger too. He came back and fought the men trying to kill Britt. However, he was brutally injured. He, Britt, and Brick reached a safe house, where Britt saved his life by performing a dangerous surgery. When police came searching for them, Britt and Jason escaped.
