Tyler Perry has returned alongside Taraji P. Henson in his much-anticipated comedy-drama sequel, which is now streaming globally on Netflix.
Why Did I Get Married Again?, the long-awaited third installment following 2007’s Why Did I Get Married? and 2010’s Why Did I Get Married Too? premiered on September 9, 2026, on Netflix.
This third installment brings back Perry as Terry alongside beloved stars Jill Scott as Sheila, Richard T. Jones as Mike, Tasha Smith as Angela, Michael Jai White as Marcus, Lamman Rucker as Troy, and Sharon Leal as Dianne for a new destination wedding story, with Henson as Roselyn joining the ensemble as the adults. This time around, too, the original group of friends reunite for a destination wedding.
Meanwhile, the kids include Armani Greer as Jasmine, Everett Osborne as Wesley, Da’Vinchi as Marcus Jr., Laya Deleon Hayes as Kenya, Jaden Michael as T.J., Charles L. Smith II as Denver, Derrick A. King as Nick, and Sydney Winbush as Regina.

In Why Did I Get Married Again?, the couples come together in Italy to celebrate Wesley, the son of Roselyn, and Jasmine, the daughter of Marcus and Angela, as they prepare to get hitched. Now that the two have reunited after being apart for quite some time, they quickly realize that as much as things change, they stay the same.
As they come to terms with the fact that their children have grown up to be so much like them, they reflect on their own relationships, old flaws, and past choices, prompting the central question of why people repeat the cycle of marriage.
Per Netflix Tudum, the official synopsis of Why Did I Get Married Again reads, “The couples reunite for the destination wedding of Marcus (Michael Jai White) and Angela’s (Tasha Smith) daughter, bringing drama old and new as they ask themselves, “Why did we get married again?”
