Hull City have confirmed that Sorba Thomas is “unharmed” after the winger was involved in a car accident on Friday morning.
According to a statement from the Premier League side, the accident happened near the club’s training ground in Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire, but the Wales international, 27, sustained “no injuries”.
Pictures circulated on social media showed a Land Rover, purportedly belonging to Thomas, laying upside down on the side of a narrow residential street.
Hull’s statement read: “We are relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed following a road traffic accident near the club’s Cottingham training ground.
“The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.”
When asked about the incident by The Athletic, Humberside Police said: “Officers and emergency services are currently in attendance following reports of a road traffic collision on Milllhouse (sic) Woods Lane, Cottingham at around 9am on Friday, 11 September 2026.
“The road remains closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area to allow emergency services to operate effectively.”
Thomas previously played in England’s non-league and lower divisions and spent time at Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town and Ligue 1 side Nantes.
He joined Hull from Stoke City on transfer deadline day and has made two appearances for the newly-promoted side. Thomas has played 27 times for Wales’ national team, scoring twice.
Hull, who have two wins and a draw from their opening three Premier League games, are next in action against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
