The Lewis family have provided a further £120 million in capital to Tottenham, according to reports.
The latest investment takes the amount supplied to the club by the family to around £320m over the past 12 months. It follows a £100m injection during the summer from the family, who run Spurs’ majority owner ENIC.
The additional funding comes as the Lewis family take on a more prominent role in Tottenham’s decision-making following Daniel Levy’s departure as executive chairman last September.
The summer investment increased the Lewis family’s shareholding in Tottenham to approximately 88%.
Levy was given the opportunity to invest a proportionate amount to prevent his stake from being diluted, but he did not take up the option before the deadline.
As a result, his holding fell from 29.88% to around 27%.
The Lewis family have now committed another substantial sum, although it remains unclear whether Levy will be offered the chance to participate in this latest investment.
If Levy does not take up a further opportunity to invest, his shareholding could be diluted again.
His stake would potentially fall to around 25% following the latest capital injection.
The investment also provides Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi with further financial backing after the club spent heavily during the summer transfer window.
