Isaac Cruz is now carrying tonight’s entire San Diego card after food poisoning forced Jesus Ramos Jr. out of his fight with Meiirim Nursultanov. What remains beneath Cruz–Nestor Bravo is a collection of developing fighters without another established attraction to justify the DAZN spotlight.

Ramos–Nursultanov supplied the danger that the main event lacks. Ramos was facing a difficult middleweight with a significant height advantage and a perfect record. Cruz, by comparison, is defending his interim WBC light welterweight title against an opponent ranked No. 83 by BoxRec.

Premier Boxing Champions has elevated Daniel Blancas (15-0) against Sergio Jimenez (17-1-1) into the co-main event position. Blancas has looked sharp on smaller cards, but asking a developing super middleweight to provide second-billing value exposes how dependent the promotion was on Ramos.

Eumir Marcial (7-0) will now face Omar Huerta (15-1-1) in the DAZN opener, Francisco A. Salazar reported. Marcial owns an Olympic bronze medal and has legitimate talent, but seven professional fights have not made him a recognizable supporting attraction.

DAZN subscribers are essentially receiving developmental fights underneath a main event already heavily slanted toward the house fighter. That places an unfair amount of responsibility on Cruz to supply the entertainment that disappeared with Ramos.

Cruz (28-3-2, 18 KOs) needs more than a win over Bravo (24-1, 17 KOs). He must make the difference in class obvious while dealing with an opponent who has every reason to avoid a direct fight.

Bravo can hold, circle, and force Cruz to chase him for twelve rounds. That approach would clash badly with Pitbull’s crowd-pleasing reputation. Cruz looks dangerous when opponents agree to trade hooks in the pocket, but far less polished when they refuse to remain within punching range.

Lamont Roach Jr. exposed that weakness by denying Cruz the stationary target he wanted. If Bravo follows the same plan, Cruz must cut off the ring instead of lunging forward with wide hooks. Otherwise, the supposed action headliner may become an ugly pursuit around the ropes.

The recent addition of Eddy Reynoso creates expectations and a potential stylistic conflict. Cruz built his brand through forward pressure, volume, and physical aggression. Reynoso generally favors patience, tight defense, and controlled counterpunching.

If Cruz hesitates between his natural aggression and Reynoso’s slower tactical pacing, he may land in no man’s land. A cautious, low-output Pitbull would be disastrous on a card already stripped of its strongest supporting fight.

One camp will not rebuild Cruz’s feet or turn him into a polished ring cutter. The useful change would be greater control of his pressure without removing the urgency that made him popular.

Ryan Garcia has mentioned Cruz as a possible opponent for December or January, but Ryan controls the commercial terms. Teofimo Lopez, Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson and Angel Fierro give him several alternatives.

If Cruz labors to a decision against the No. 83-ranked light welterweight, Ryan’s team can dismiss him and chase a larger payday. Pitbull is auditioning for the most lucrative fight available to him, and an ordinary performance reduces whatever bargaining power he still owns.

The DAZN broadcast begins at 8:00 p.m. ET from Pechanga Arena in San Diego. By then, Cruz will be the attraction, the entertainment, and the only established reason many viewers have to watch.
