Paramount Pictures has dropped the official trailer for The Rescue. It is an upcoming Western film starring Brandon Sklenar.
The Rescue arrives exclusively in theaters on January 29, 2027. It is a new Western action thriller directed by Potsy Ponciroli, with the screenplay by John Fusco. Ponciroli is the filmmaker behind the movies Motor City, Greedy People, and Old Henry. Meanwhile, Fusco’s screenwriting credits include Crossroads, Young Guns, The Highwaymen, and more.
The official logline of The Rescue reads, “A former rodeo cowboy (Brandon Sklenar) takes matters into his own hands when his daughter is kidnapped for ransom. With her devoted dog by his side, he sets out to bring her home and will stop at nothing to find her.”

What happens in The Rescue trailer?
The trailer for The Rescue opens with a chilling shot of a remote cabin in the woods, where a terrified young girl is tied and locked up. A mysterious man comes and pulls the head cover to reveal her face before ominously staring at her.
The preview then cuts to a few cars heading over to meet Brandon Sklenar’s Jamie Lee. One of them informs him, “Your daughter’s gone missing.” We then see Jamie Lee meeting with his devastated ex-wife and assures her, “We’re gonna get her back.”
It is later revealed, “Her dog was with her when she was taken. Picked up on her scent.” What follows is a desperate father’s journey to rescue his daughter with their dog as the guide. The trailer goes on to feature a thrilling montage of some of the most nail-biting moments from the movie.
In addition to Sklenar, The Rescue stars Hassie Harrison, Josh Lucas, Josh Duhamel, Spencer Treat Clark, Tim Blake Nelson, Austin Amelio, Nick Searcy, and Lorelei Olivia Mote.
