A Disney alum recently shared that she did cocaine in her early 20s. At the time, she was the lead voice actor for Kim Possible. She said that it helped her attract the attention she needed and also changed her established Disney image.
Christy Carlson Romano recalls trying cocaine at Paris Hilton’s home
In a recent conversation with the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Romano revealed that she tried cocaineat a party in Paris Hilton’s home. While she didn’t really enjoy having the drug, she was happy with the attention that it brought to her. She said that she liked doing it in front of people and changing their perspective towards her. “Everybody’s like, ‘I got the Disney girl to do cocaine for the first time,” Romano said.
She shared that she didn’t care about her cocaine adventures going out in the press because she wanted the attention, which she didn’t get earlier despite her best efforts. “I’d been clubbing for a while just trying to get noticed by paparazzi and it never happened,” she added. The actress mentioned how, before the social media age, no celebrity had the control to maintain their image in the press.
“It was whatever the paparazzi, TMZ, Page Six really saw of you… that was how you were able to change people’s opinion of you. And at that time, I had been clubbing since I was like, well, really since I was like 16, but I’d been really aggressively clubbing to try to get noticed since I was like 21,” she elaborated. This revelation comes amid the release of her upcoming memoir, Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child.
Apart from her memoir, Romano is set to play Nicole in an upcoming television movie, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True. Before this, she voiced Kim Possible in two episodes of Chibiverse.
