Dennis Haskins, the actor who won generations of fans as Principal Richard Belding on the hit teen sitcom Saved by the Bell, has died at 75. His agent, Jay Schachter, confirmed the death but did not share a cause of death.

Schachter remembered his client of more than two decades in a statement, saying, “It’s a tragic loss. Everyone loved Mr. Belding and those of us who got to know Dennis, loved him even more. He was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans.” The agent added, “He always had time for them, no matter what. He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly. I’m heartbroken” (via Deadline).
Haskins introduced the Belding character in 1989 on the Disney Channel series Good Morning, Miss Bliss, playing opposite Hayley Mills. NBC then reworked the show into Saved by the Bell, and Haskins carried the role through its four-season run. He later returned for Saved by the Bell: The New Class, staying with that revival for seven seasons until it ended in 2000.
Across the franchise, his character became famous for the scolding line, “Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?” He shared the screen with Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley and Mario Lopez.
Moreover, Dennis Haskins worked steadily outside Bayside.
