Meghan Markle’s former agent Ari Emanuel has reportedly made a surprising comment about the Duchess of Sussex’s career. This comes after reports surfaced that the two parted ways in 2025.

The WME Group executive chairman was asked about the Duchess in a new interview with The Times. When questioned about where he thinks Meghan’s professional future is heading, Emanuel gave a short and blunt response. He said, “Here’s the great thing: I don’t have to think about that anymore.”
However, there appears to be some confusion surrounding Emanuel’s comments. WME has confirmed to PEOPLE that the agency still represents Meghan and Archewell. The agency did not provide further details about Emanuel’s remarks.
It also did not clarify the circumstances of his reported departure from Markle’s account. Meghan signed with WME in April 2023, and Emanuel was initially among the high-profile agents named to her team.
Brad Slater and Jill Smoller were also involved with Markle. At the time, the agency was set to help expand Meghan’s business interests, covering film and television production, brand collaborations, and representation of Archewell.
Despite that development, WME, the agency itself, continued representing Meghan and Archewell Productions. Emanuel’s direct involvement with Meghan’s account was reportedly brief. According to a report from Variety, Emanuel and Slater were no longer listed on her account just months after she signed with WME.
Despite their partnership ending, Emanuel remains one of Hollywood’s most prominent entertainment executives. His past A-list clients have included The Rock, Ben Affleck, Oprah Winfrey, Mark Wahlberg, and Kim Kardashian.
Meanwhile, Meghan and Prince Harry recently moved back to the U.K. with their children. They are reportedly happy to be back, while their focus remains on settling Archie and Lilibet into their new lives.
