Manchester City fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing after they spotted an email from the club hit their inbox in the wake of the 115 charges verdict.
After a long legal battle, Manchester City discovered that they had been found guilty of almost all of the charges brought against them by the Premier League over three years ago.
In the wake of the decision, City fans have been left wondering what the future of the club looks like and were therefore baffled when they were sent a monthly questionnaire asking how they were feeling.

Despite the fact that City are intending to appeal the guilty verdict, speculation about what punishment the club could face for seemingly breaking as many of 114 of the charges has been rife.
Various punishments have been listed as potential outcomes following the verdict, with significant fines, point deductions, transfer bans or even relegation and/or expulsion from the Premier League all believed to be on the table.
For City fans, it’s hard to know what’s next for the club, with the feeling around the club understandably pretty low right now.
It therefore came as a bit of a surprise when fans checked their email and noticed they’d received a monthly questionnaire from the club which included a question that has already aged poorly.
As per Manchester Evening News, the questionnaire asked fans how optimistic they are about City’s future, as well as some other questions.
Taking to social media, one fan wrote: “I was taken aback by the timing. And my score on that particular question wasn’t too high.”
Before jokingly adding: “But when they asked what the club could have done better in the last month, I didn’t hold back and gave it both barrels: no more gluten free burgers?! WTF!”
Other parts of the questionaire looked for opinions on ‘life as a City fan these days’, how optimistic the future feels, and the current direction of the club off the pitch.
Although some assumed the email was a mistake and one that was simply automatically due to go out at a rather unfortunate time, it also lines up with the ‘business as usual’ attitude that City has adopted since the verdict was made public.
According to City, they remain completely innocent and the verdict is simply based on a ‘single false accusation’.

Man City chief speaks out for the first time since 115 charges
Alongside the club’s public statement, Manchester City Chief Executive Ferran Soriano sent a video to club staff on Tuesday that has since gone viral online.
In the video, Soriano claimed that the Premier League’s case was based on a ‘single false accusation’ and that the commission had ignored the ‘extensive’ evidence proving City’s innocence.
“This is just not true. Irrefutable evidence has been provided to the Premier League commission that shows it could not happen and that it did not happen,” he told staff in the video message.
“This includes bank statements, money transfers, witnesses and everything necessary to categorically demonstrate the money did not come from the owner.
“Every other false charge that has been thrown at us comes from that simple, central and completely false accusation.
“Surprisingly for us and our lawyers after nearly two years the Premier League’s commission has issued an opinion that supports the Premier League’s conspiracy theory.
“To do so, the opinion had to ignore the extensive evidence provided by the club in order to reach a conclusion that is clearly wrong.”
Soriano then confirmed to staff that, as expected, City would be filing an appeal against the decision ahead of the deadline on Friday (October 2).
It is currently not known how long the appeal process could take, or how likely it is that City will succeed for any, let alone all, of the guilty verdicts.
