Erling Haaland has urged Manchester City supporters to remain united ahead of a crucial week for the club following the verdict in their Premier League financial case.
City are preparing to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday before hosting Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain three days later.
The fixtures come amid uncertainty surrounding the club’s future after an independent commission found City guilty of breaching Premier League financial regulations, with the club appealing the verdict.
Haaland, however, is focused on matters on the pitch and believes maintaining a positive atmosphere will be important as Enzo Maresca’s side attempt to continue their perfect start to the domestic season.
Speaking to Manchester City’s official website, Haaland encouraged supporters travelling to Anfield to enjoy the occasion and continue backing the team.
“I think they [the City fans travelling to Anfield] are gonna have a good time,” he said.
“We have to stick together. We have to stay with each other, and we have to stay positive.
“No matter what happens in life, we always have to have a smile. We have to stay positive, look ahead and try to win football games and try to enjoy the situation and win the game.
“We have to stick together, and we have to spread the love to each other.
“So yeah, stick together, enjoy the ride and smile.”
City have won their opening five Premier League matches and head to Merseyside looking to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
Haaland is also in good form after scoring three goals in four appearances for Norway during the international break.
“It’s always special to play against Liverpool – I won there, drew there and lost,” Haaland added.
“It’s always special – every Premier League game is different and every Premier League game against Liverpool is special.”
