Luka Doncic received a warm welcome to his first appearance at the Chase Center on Friday night.
With less than a minute into the first quarter, Golden State Warriors fans were booing and echoing “Luka sucks” in one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the week.
The chants remained throughout the first quarter, and Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg was enjoying every second of it.
The distaste for Doncic from the Warriors fans emerged from the Lakers and Warriors season opener on October. 21, when he and Lendeborg were seen talking trash to each other.
During the game, Lendeborg received a technical foul after he admitted that he saw a few “cuss words” towards Doncic.
After the game, Lendeborg told reporters that he “lost all respect” towards Doncic because he was “whining and complaining.”
Since that moment, the anticipation for Doncic vs Lendeborg, round two has been fueld with heavy anticipation.
Before the game started, Lendeborg made a statement by showing up to the arena dressed as the horror movie franchise icon, Michael Myers.
While Lendeborg did his talking off the court, Doncic did his talking on the court.
Doncic’s first basket of the night was a three-pointer that was in front of Lendeborg to make it 5-0.
The Lakers then went on a 12-0 run before Golden State took their first timeout.

Midway through the second quarter, Doncic already had 21 points while Lendeborg had zero.
Since then, the Warriors adjusted and finished the first half holding Doncic to a total 24 points.
Golden State went on a 10-0 run against the Lakers, near the final two minutes of the first half and were led by Steph Curry who scored 14 points.
The Lakers and Warriors are currently tied 53-53 at halftime.
