World Cup 2026: Brazil vs Norway stats
- Of the four previous games between these sides, Norway won 2-1 in their last meeting at the finals in 1998 and are unbeaten overall (W2 D2)
- Brazil have progressed from nine of their 10 matches in the last 16 at the World Cup, failing to do so in a 1-0 defeat to Argentina in 1990
- Bruno Guimaraes has four assists at the 2026 tournament. Only Pele (6, in 1970) has recorded more for Brazil in a single World Cup edition on record since 1966
- The Selecao are averaging 15 attempts per game at this year’s tournament (60 shots across 4 matches), which is their second-lowest on record at a single edition, ahead of 1998 (14.4)
- They could win four World Cup matches in a row, which would be Brazil’s best such sequence since an 11-game run between 2002 and 2006
- Since beating Germany in the 2002 final, Brazil have been eliminated from six successive World Cup knockout ties against European opponents
- Norway’s win over Ivory Coast was their first-ever victory in a World Cup knockout match
- In their previous two such games, Norway lost against Italy at the World Cup in 1938 and 1998
- Erling Haaland has scored in each of his last 13 competitive internationals, netting 25 goals along the way
- A goal against Brazil would make Haaland the eighth European player to score in each of his first four World Cup appearances
