I must say, I didn’t expect to see an RTX 5070 Ti gaming PC for this cheap any time remotely soon. Over the last few months we’ve seen prices for components (especially RAM) rise across the board, and over the last few weeks I’ve noticed gaming PCs have started shooting up in price, suggesting cheaper backstock is finally running dry. But here we are, an RTX 5070 Ti rig for just $1,699 at Walmart.
That price is about the same as we saw RTX 5070 Ti rigs go for on sale during last year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which was prior to the RAMpocalyptic price hikes. I also highlighted this very same PC back in June when it was $50 more than it costs right now, and it was a good deal even at that price.
Saying that, there are definitely big caveats to this build, making it far from an equal comparison. However, even with those caveats in mind, I think the price here is just so far below other RTX 5070 Ti rigs we’re seeing right now that if you want something purely for high-end gaming, it’s still a great shout.
Let’s be clear on the caveats though: the trifecta of RAM, storage, and CPU. Firstly, you’re getting just 16 GB of DDR5, and given MSI doesn’t seem to list its speed anywhere, this could be slow DDR5, too. Then there’s the storage, of which you’re only getting 1 TB—that in itself isn’t too unusual below $2,000 these days, though. And finally the CPU, which is basically a repurposed mobile chip that has just half the L3 cache (16 MB) of standard AMD desktop CPUs.

And here it’s not getting a full 32 GB of fast DDR5 RAM to pull from, either. That being said, for games that aren’t particularly CPU-intensive, it should serve the RTX 5070 Ti fine.
If you want an all-round high-end rig, then, it’s probably best to look elsewhere. But if you mainly care about gaming, this MSI rig should be well worth it as the RTX 5070 Ti will still be able to pump out some frames with that included CPU and RAM combo.
There’s something else to note about the CPU too, which is that it’s socket AM5. That means you should be good to upgrade the CPU to a current-gen or even next-gen X3D CPU whenever you’re ready, without having to upgrade your motherboard too. So there’s some longevity there for upgrades if you decide you need more processing horsepower.
In the end, though, the main allure here is that GPU in a build for just $1,699. That’s a genuinely great deal for 2026.
