Chicago Fire is set to lose one of its original cast members. As the latest season of the popular NBC drama approaches, a key member will be bidding adieu to the series.
Joe Minoso is a familiar face to fans of Chicago Fire. Since the pilot episode, the American actor has appeared throughout all 14 seasons of the series. However, according to Variety, the 47-year-old actor will leave the series after Season 15
Variety also added, “He will appear in a handful of episodes in the show’s upcoming 15th season to wrap up his character arc.”
Minoso played the role of Joe Cruz in the series. During Season 1, he appeared as a recurring cast member before becoming a series regular in Season 2. Following his eventual exit, Firehouse 51 will welcome a new firefighter played by BMF star Da’Vinchi. The American actor was one of the original cast members of the series. The other three are Christian Stolte, Taylor Kinney, and David Eigenberg.
When is Chicago Fire Season 15 premiering on NBC?
Created by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, the NBC series first premiered on October 10, 2012. Now, the series is gearing up for Season 15, which is scheduled to premiere on NBC on October 7, 2026. The upcoming chapter will pick up from the cliffhanger ending of the previous season. The Season 14 finale saw several members of Firehouse 51 rush into a burning storage facility. As the smoke engulfed the facility, the firefighters faced significant visibility challenges.
Amid all this, the fire seemed to have caused the roof to become unstable, as it looked tantalizingly close to collapsing. The new season will reveal whether the characters survived the danger and made it out alive.
Season 15 of Chicago Fire will also feature a new executive producer, Victor Teran, who replaces Andrea Newman after 14 seasons.
