Scott Eastwood revealed the tensions between Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood on the set of A Perfect World. He shared an interesting story about how his father sent Costner home after he reportedly didn’t come out of his trailer for some reason. The move didn’t sit well with Clint, who strongly believed everyone should be present on set while making a movie.

In a conversation on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Scott Eastwood was asked about his father’s behavior on set, specifically whether his father was strict or lenient. He shared a story, which he claimed he would paraphrase and tell it a bit wrongly. He said, “Kevin Costner sort of going through maybe the Kevin Costner rise to fame, maybe got a big ego, blah, blah, blah. They were doingPerfect World. They’re both starring in this movie; my dad is directing.”
He revealed that Costner stayed in the trailer and didn’t come out of it for an unstated reason. However, he said that Clint didn’t really like the concept of trailers and believed it shouldn’t be there while making movies. Recalling what his father taught him in childhood, he added that he always used to say that if one has to learn to make movies, they should be on set with everyone.
Further, Scott shared that his father actually ordered that Costner be sent home, with everyone wondering as to why when he was in the scene. “So he sent him home, and they went to Kevin and said, ‘Hey, you’re going to go home for the day.’ He’s like, ‘What do you mean, I’m in the scene? The crew’s response? I guess you’re not anymore. Clint changed that,” he continued. The next day, Scott revealed that Costner was ready to work instantly before reflecting on how his father particularly likes things to move quickly and smoothly when filming.
