Нийт 10 дуунаас бүрдэх уг цомогт багтсан “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” болон “Rock With You” синглүүд АНУ-ын Billboard Hot 100 жагсаалтыг тэргүүлж байв.
Тэрээр “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” дуугаараа R&B төрлийн шилдэг эрэгтэй дуучны шагнал хүртэж байжээ.

Monday marked an important day in music history, as one of the most iconic artists we have ever seen released his breakout album 47 years ago.
Michael Jackson became one of music’s most beloved entertainers during the 1980s, earning the nickname “King of Pop.” He is known for some of his classic hits such as Billie Jean (1982) and Smooth Criminal (1987). Not to forget some of his top albums, such as Thriller (1982) and Bad (1987).
And on August 10, 1979, Jackson released his first major breakthrough album called Off the Wall.
Off the Wall marked Jackson’s fifth studio album and was released by Epic Records. The two-sided album features 10 tracks, five of which were singles. And two of them hit No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, including Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough and Rock With You.
The album itself didn’t hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 pop chart, peaking at No. 3, but it did reach No. 1 on the R&B album charts, staying there for numerous months. Jackson also won numerous awards for Off the Wall, including a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male, for Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.

Jackson began his music career at the age of six, forming a group with his siblings called the Jackson 5. During his 20 years with the band, Jackson also began his solo career, releasing his debut solo album, Got to Be There, in 1971.
But Off the Wall is what the Grammy Awards consider to be Jackson’s breakout album, earning the artist his first award win. And while this wasn’t his debut solo album, it was Jackson’s “first after leaving Motown.”
Off the Wall would be one of two Michael Jackson albums inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, joining Thriller in 2008.
