Patchy Mix suffered his fourth loss in a row this Tuesday morning in his RIZIN54 clash.
Just last year, Patchy Mix signed with the UFC and was widely regarded as the best bantamweight fighter on the planet.
Things couldn’t have gone worse for ‘No Love’ as he suffered losses in his first two fights, which ultimately led to his axing from the promotion.
And since leaving the UFC, Patchy Mix‘s bad luck has followed him and he has now suffered his fourth loss in a row.
Patchy Mix suffers loss at RIZIN 54 after missing weight by 6lbs
Following his removal from the UFC, Mix signed with Asian promotion, RIZIN, where he made his debut this past March.
Unfortunately for the 32-year-old, his debut ended in disappointment as he was handed a brutal knockout loss.
He was then booked to make his second appearance under the RIZIN banner which took place at RIZIN 54 this Tuesday morning.
Ahead of his clash against Shoko Sato, Mix horrendously missed weight by 6lbs, with weight cuts having negatively impacted him in the past.
His big weight miss led to his fight being pushed down the card as somewhat of a punishment, and because of the RIZIN rules, he went into his fight with an automatic 2-point deduction.
And as per the ruleset, Mix went into his fight knowing that he wasn’t able to come out of Tokyo, Japan, with a win, as fighters who miss weight are not able to be awarded a win, and if they do win the fight, it is automatically overturned to a no contest.
Despite that, Mix’s weight miss controversy didn’t end up playing a part in the fight, as the American was beaten by his Japanese opponent who picked up the unanimous decision, winning 28-27 on three scorecards.
That has extended ‘No Love’s’ losing streak to four losses in a row, and where he goes from here is currently unknown.
