This California man has opened up about some hidden Tesla features that will have flown under the radar of many owners.

YouTuber Everyday Chris builds his content around Tesla, so it’s no wonder that he knows his stuff.

But for the rest of us, a lot of these features will come as a total surprise.

It makes us wonder how much there is yet to discover about these cars.

Everyday Chris has covered practically every facet of Teslas up to this point

Everyday Chris is a YouTuber who focuses his content on Tesla tips and tricks.

He’s covered a whole bunch of cool features before, whether that’s on the Tesla app or through the accessories.

In a more recent video, he was listing off some cool features that many drivers will have overlooked.

Everyday Chris

“I’ve owned my Teslas for years and somehow I keep finding features that make me go, ‘Wait, that was there the whole time?’” Chris said.

“Tesla doesn’t really explain half the stuff they add. You just get in your car one day, the screen looks different… Something flashes red and you’re like, ‘What the heck? I didn’t know this could do that’.

“When you buy a normal car, it’s mostly like it stays the same. The car you get is the car you get. But with Tesla, the cars keep changing.”

So what hidden Tesla features did he highlight?

Hidden Tesla features that serve as driver assistance

Did you know that there’s a safety lock that can delay you from opening the door if a car or a cyclist is approaching from behind?

That’s there to help prevent accidents.

Also on hand to help prevent mishaps is blind spot ambient lighting, which appears on the dashboard and side panels when a vehicle is in your blind spot.

That only appears on newer models with ambient lighting, however.

“You can’t fully trust Tesla’s vision-based system cuz it’ll say ‘stop’, but you go and look and there’s still like a solid 2 ft of space left,” Chris admitted.

“I miss the sensors, man.”

Other features highlighted included Auto-Park on the seatbelt, in which releasing your seatbelt while stopped immediately puts the car into Park.

You can also access video feeds via a button on your steering wheel.

That’d prove handy in a pinch when you’re attempting to parallel park.

And need a helpful reminder while waiting in traffic? There’s a Green Light Chime, which dings when a traffic light turns green or the vehicle in front begins moving.

The hidden Tesla features that will serve as charging and emergency hacks

All across Tesla cars are hidden switches and buttons.

For example, if you press and hold the rear left door handle, this can pause charging and unlock a charger cable that’s gotten itself stuck.

Not exactly a common occurrence, but always handy to know, for sure.

“That’s one of those features where you’re like, why would I even need to know this?” Chris admitted.

“But then the one time you need it, you’re glad you learned and watched this video.”

Inside the trunk lining near the charge port is a pull strap, which also serves to manually release a stuck charger.

Navigation and app shortcuts

On the Tesla screen, there are a ton of shortcuts which can save you time.

By swiping right or down on the search bar in navigation, you can automatically route yourself to a saved Home or Work address.

Those precious seconds saved in a morning commute can add up, after all.

Then there’s location-based auto-folding.

This allows drivers to program their Teslas so that the side mirrors fold inwards based on GPS coordinates.

That’s particularly handy if you’re always squeezing into tight garage spaces.

How about seating and cabin utility?

Inside the car, the tricks and tips keep on coming.

On the Model Y, the middle rear seat can fold down separately, allowing for a pass-through for long items like skis – while still leaving two backseats totally usable.

In fact, the whole second row can recline thanks to buttons near the base.

And if you ever wanted to open your trunk up without using your hands, Tesla has you covered – the trunk can be opened if your phone key is nearby.

They really thought of everything.

Technology, Audio and AI features

The cherry on top of the tech has got to be the Grok AI assistant, capable of language tutoring, advice, location recommendations, and multi-stop route creation.

“There’s so many cool features on the voices alone. I did wish Grok was the only AI assistant feature on there,” Chris said.

“I’m hoping, I’m pretty sure they’ll find a way to integrate Grok into everything instead of needing that first OG voice assistant.”

And as if all of that wasn’t enough, the car sounds an alert chime if you accidentally leave your paired phone inside the car.

How handy is that?

Gone are the days of losing your phone and frantically searching your house, only for it to be sitting in your garage.

See all of these hidden Tesla features for yourself over at Chris’ YouTube channel.
