ESL have unveiled the invites for the first ESL Challenger League Season 52 Cup, marking the return of ESL Challenger League to North America have Season 51 ended back in May. As per usual, the event features fourteen teams invited by the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) while the final two spots are rounded out by squads from ESEA Season 57 Finals.
The big names in this cup are Voca and Marsborne while Chicken Coop are the sole other Top Ten NA squad to feature in the event. This is due to the cup overlapping this next weekend’s FRAG Midwest: St. Louis LAN, meaning names like SportsBetExpert, LAG, regain, and Wanted Goons declined an invite.
This event will see FarmVille, Club 333, and Elusive debut their new rosters in a Ranked event while NuTorious, Iowa Stormboar, Zomblers, EMPIRE, Shimmer, and DETONATE will all have one or new players on display.
With a drought on online Ranked events in recent months ECL has the potential to significantly up the lower end of the VRS standings in North America while teams also seek spots in ESL Pro League Season 25.
