This man had always dreamed of owning a Rolls-Royce – and finally got to fulfil his dream when he bought a 1981 Silver Spirit at age 22.
YouTube channel Resto Revival interviewed Joe about how he achieved his goal at such a young age.
Joe had been inspired by stories from his grandfather, alongside memories of sitting in a neighbor’s car at a young age.
This spurred him on to get a Rolls-Royce of his own, and he succeeded.
There’s no denying that Rolls-Royce makes some classy cars
When you think automotive excellence, Rolls-Royce tends not to be too far from your mind.
These cars are just dripping in class, whether they’re decked out in flowers by John Lennon or fronted by a light-up Spirit of Ecstasy.
With so much prestige attached to its name, it’s no wonder that the brand has been put on something of a pedestal by car lovers.
Even Alex Hirschi, aka Supercar Blondie, has a Rolls-Royce to call her own.
How this man secured himself a Silver Spirit at age 22
Joe’s admiration for the Rolls-Royce brand started at a young age.
“Most kids have got posters of Lamborghinis and Ferraris… but there’s something about vintage vehicles, Rolls-Royces – the class, the presence, the old-world sort of feel,” Joe told Resto Revival’s host, Will.
“That’s what appeals to me.”

Inspired by stories from his grandfather and from seeing his neighbor’s Rolls-Royces, Joe set his sights on acquiring one.
At age 22, he fulfilled that dream when he purchased a 1981 Silver Spirit for $9,540 (£7,000) that required significant restoration work.
While the car is often thought of as being less desirable than the Silver Shadow, Joe didn’t mind – and set about making it special.
He restored it with new tires, fuel lines, belts, and deep detailing.

“You could smell cigar inside it when I first got it… It does look like a gentleman’s lounge in there,” Joe recalled.
“I’ve just stayed on top of it since, really, just little bits here and there… The idea is longevity with it, definitely.”
While out for a test drive, both Joe and Will acknowledged the car’s effortless ride quality.
“There’s just such a relaxing demeanor about this car,” Will commented.

“Yeah, you’re not going to be in a hurry driving this,” Joe replied.
Whether fast or at a more leisurely pace, there was no denying this was a special car.
“The feeling as well when you’re sat down on the steering wheel and you [see] the long bonnet and the Spirit of Ecstasy perched on the front is just—it’s cool, isn’t it?” Joe said.
Reflecting on the car, Will praised the car’s personality.
“He was a fabulous car and one with real character. I loved the story behind it and I loved Joe’s connection to the car and to the wider brand of Rolls-Royce cars,” he told Supercar Blondie.
Will explained how Joe even went to the effort of tracking down the original owner, taking it back to ‘the first owner’s house where it lived for the first part of his life’.
“[Joe] clearly cares for the car and does most of the work on it himself, and I think it’s people like Joe who need to be celebrated in the car world,” he added.
