Days of Our Lives took to social media to announce a well-known daytime star joining its roster. They didn’t share exact details about when she will officially appear on the show. The California-born actress has previously worked on General Hospital and The Young and the Restless.
Brytni Sarpy cast on Days of Our Lives in mystery role
Days of Our Lives announced via Instagram that Brytni Sarpy will be joining the roster. The details of her role and when she will appear on air remain undisclosed at the moment. While sharing the news, the Peacock soap posted a picture of Sarpy pointing to her dressing room for DOOL. The caption read, “Someone new is checking into Salem… Welcome Brytni Sarpy to the Days of our Lives family! Stay tuned.”
Previously, Sarpy played Valerie Spencer on General Hospital since 2015. The character was the daughter of the late Patricia Spencer and an unidentified father. At first, her role was in a regular capacity till mid-December 2016. After that, she appeared in a recurring role before concluding her run on the show in 2019 to join The Young and the Restless.
In conversation with Soap Opera Digest, she described bidding adieu to Valerie as “bittersweet.” She wished that there had been time to finish out the character at least, but that wasn’t possible as she was occupied filming Y&R. “I started filming pretty quickly after I booked Y&R, so there was not enough time to do that,” she elaborated. Paulina Bugembe replaced her.
In Y&R, Sarpy was introduced in 2019 as Elena Dawson. She played the character until 2024. Apart from daytime soaps, she appeared on other shows such as New Girl, The Haves and the Haves-Not, and My Crazy Ex. She was also involved in film projects such as Truth or Dare and You Again.
