Inde Navarrette has shared her reaction to joining the MCU as Rogue. Marvel recently announced the Obsession star as part of the ensemble of its upcoming X-Men reboot.
While meeting fans and signing autographs, she was asked how it feels to play the iconic mutant. Navarrette replied, “It’s phenomenal. A huge honor. It’s insane.”
Navarrette’s casting marks a major new chapter in her career. She has also appeared in Superman & Lois and 13 Reasons Why. The Obsession star will play Rogue in Marvel Studios’ new X-Men film, following Anna Paquin’s portrayal of the character in Fox’s X-Men franchise.
The character is one of the most popular X-Men, known for her ability to absorb a person’s powers, memories, and life force through physical contact. Her relationships with other X-Men have also made her an important character in the comics.
What do we know about the X-Men reboot so far?
Marvel Studios’ X-Men reboot is directed by Jake Schreier, best known for Thunderbolts*. Lee Sung Jin, Joanna Calo, and Michael Lesslie are writing the screenplay.
Marvel officially announced the cast at D23 in August 2026. Navarrette is part of an ensemble that includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister.
The reboot will be Marvel Studios’ first X-Men film and will establish the mutant team within the MCU. Recent projects have already introduced or featured mutants, while the upcoming films are expected to expand their presence.
Although there is no clarity on whether Magneto, Beast, and Mystique will appear in the upcoming reboot film, Marvel has yet to announce the cast for these iconic mutant characters.
