Coming to Paramount+ on September 1, Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla follows Navy bomb expert Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) as he tries to return to his wife Elle (Olsen) and son in San Francisco. Instead, he finds himself caught in the middle of an epic clash between colossal prehistoric monsters.
In Japan, his estranged father Joe (Bryan Cranston) and Monarch researchers, including Dr. Ishiro Serizawa (Ken Watanabe), uncover a dormant parasitic predator known as a MUTO. When it awakens, it triggers a chain of events with global consequences.
Additionally, premiering on Paramount+ on September 1 is The Varnell Hill Show Season 1, an eight-episode workplace comedy. Set behind the scenes of a long-running late-night show, the series follows flamboyant host Varnell Hill, played by Tommy Davidson, as he battles declining ratings and executive pressure to modernize. This satirical half-hour sees him clash with his new producer and rely on his outsized ego to save his empire, packed with fourth-wall breaks and cutaway gags.
Fans can also look forward to more scares this week, as Stephen King’s Graveyard Shift, Silver Bullet, and Thinner are all releasing on Paramount+ on the same date.
