Тоглолтын эхнээс Астон Вилла давамгайлж, хоёр дахь минутад Иан Матсений дамжуулалтаар Николас Жексон аюултай цохилт хийсэн ч амжилтгүй болсон юм. Hull City held Aston Villa to a 0-0 draw at the MKM Stadium as the visitors extended their wait for a first Premier League goal of the season.
The visitors started brightly and almost took the lead after just two minutes when Ian Maatsen found Nicolas Jackson with a cross from the left. The new signing’s header narrowly missed the target.
Hull responded with a few efforts from distance, including an ambitious attempt from near halfway by Mendy that was comfortably dealt with by Suzuki.
Villa then began to create more openings. At 13 minutes, George Hemmings produced their first shot on target of the Premier League season, forcing Tzolakis to block his low effort with his knees.
Ross Barkley came even closer in the 25th minute when he opened his body and aimed for the bottom corner, but Tzolakis got a fingertip to the shot and turned it behind.
Villa continued to see plenty of the ball, although their final delivery often let them down. Mings sent an effort well over from distance, while Emiliano Buendia also wasted a free-kick before half-time.
There was a late penalty appeal from Villa when Jackson went down under pressure from Mendy, but referee Michael Oliver waved play on.
McGinn and Buendia miss big chances
Villa continued to look the more dangerous side after the restart and should have broken the deadlock in the 50th minute.
Jackson lifted the ball into the path of McGinn, who found himself one-on-one with Tzolakis. The Villa captain attempted to dink the goalkeeper, but put too much on the effort and watched it drift over the crossbar.
Hull quickly responded with their best move of the match. McBurnie linked up with Stroud before receiving the ball back, but his effort was dragged wide.
Villa then passed up another excellent opportunity. Hemmings broke into space down the right and picked out Buendia in the middle, but the Argentine leaned back and blazed over from close range.
Hull survive late pressure
Hull almost snatched the points in the 72nd minute when McBurnie flicked on a long throw from Thomas, but there was nobody at the back post to convert.
Villa continued to push, although a McGinn free-kick in the 88th minute floated harmlessly into Tzolakis’ gloves.
Hull then created another opening when Thomas fed McBurnie, who laid the ball off to Cho. The substitute’s effort was heading towards goal, but Suzuki made the save.
McBurnie had one final chance in the 90th minute when Giles delivered a dangerous cross from the touchline. The striker stretched out a leg but could not make sufficient contact to turn it goalwards.
