Jimmy Kimmel came back from hiatus on Tuesday and immediately went back to the usual programming of calling out Donald Trump. The host spent his opening monologue dismantling the president’s summer record, arguing that three months produced no real solutions for the country.

Kimmel told his audience that when he left in mid-June, the country’s war with Iran, high gas prices, high inflation, and a reflecting pool covered in algae. He sarcastically announced that “DJ Jazzy Donald” had solved every one of those problems, which drew loud boos from the crowd.
The host acted confused by the boos, pointing out that Truth Social claimed America was great again. He then asked how the president could spend three months and $20 million without cleaning a pool.
“How are we supposed to win the war with Iran when we can’t even win the war against algae?” Kimmel quipped. “For God’s sake, Trump’s pool numbers and poll numbers are at all-time lows. Only 33%.”
Jimmy Kimmel connected those numbers to Donald Trump‘s push against midterm voting. He also admitted that he and the president shared one trait: neither accomplished anything over the summer.
The host joked that the only thing Trump did finish was his hair, noting that the leaves were changing along with the president’s head. “Is it possible to have a midlife crisis at 80 years old?” Kimmel asked. “It’s like he’s aging in reverse. He’s our own little Benjamin Glutton.”
Furthermore, Kimmel spoke of Trump’s social media habits, specifically calling out the AI-generated content posted over the weekend. He told viewers that Trump posted 37 times on Sunday alone, describing the behavior as “crazier than ever.” The show’s editors showed Trump’s AI-created Green Lantern post and another one taunting Robert De Niro.
All in all, the monologue stretched for several minutes as Kimmel continued roasting the president’s online behavior and lack of legislative wins.
