A new animated Naruto movie is edging closer to an official reveal. Viz Media has confirmed that a Naruto panel at New York Comic Con will give new franchise announcements and a first-look teaser, with a film reveal expected to headline the event.

The panel will happen on October 10 inside the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. It will focus on the Naruto animation franchise and the Naruto Card Game, with Viz Media promising, as mentioned above. Three important people anchor the event. Takeuchi Junko, who voices Naruto Uzumaki in Japanese, and Sugiyama Noriaki, the Japanese voice of Sasuke Uchiha, will appear in person.
They will share the stage with Tominaga Yoshihiko, executive producer at Studio Pierrot. A Bandai representative will also attend. The Naruto movie announcement headlines the panel’s expected reveals, alongside surprise announcements covering other media developments tied to the franchise.
That combination of cast, studio talent and game updates makes this panel the franchise’s most significant public moment in recent memory. Fans have waited years for word on the next Naruto movie, and New York now looks like the place where that wait ends.
Kishimoto Masashi launched the Naruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999 and wrapped the series in 2014 after 700 chapters. The story follows Naruto Uzumaki, a ninja chasing the title of Hokage, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village.
The numbers behind the Naruto movie and anime business remain staggering. Collected manga volumes have moved more than 250 million copies across over 60 countries and regions. The anime adaptation was released on TV Tokyo in 2002 and continued as Naruto Shippuden from 2007 until March 2017. The television debut hit its 20th anniversary in October 2022. To date, 11 theatrical anime films have reached audiences, and the series still airs in more than 145 countries and regions.
