Sebastian Stan has high hopes for The Batman Part II. The actor expressed strong confidence in the upcoming DC movie, comparing it to one of the most acclaimed sequels. The Marvel star has visited the sets of Matt Reeves’ next Batman film and said it is shaping up to be something special.
Speaking with Variety, Stan was asked about his reported role as Harvey Dent in the upcoming Batman sequel. He smartly avoided revealing his character and praised Reeves’ dedication in crafting the story. The 44-year-old compared the on-set experience to “The Godfather Part II.”
“I go to set sometimes and I look around and I’m like, I think we’re making f—ing ‘Godfather Part Two,’”Stan said. “I feel that highly about it.”
According to Stan, Matt Reeves has spent three years working on the upcoming movie. The MCU star added that he doesn’t want to oversell the film, but he believes “it’s going to be a payoff.”
The Batman Part II sequel has been taking shape behind the scenes
The upcoming DCU movie will see Robert Pattinson reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Much of the plot remains under wraps. The film is set in winter following massive flooding of Gotham City. Recent set images and footage have confirmed the setting, with the Batmobile doing donuts on the snow-covered streets of the fictional city.
Alongside Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, and Jayme Lawson will return. Gil Perez-Abraham and Barry Keoghan will also appear in the upcoming Dark Knight film. They are joined by newcomers, including Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, Sebastian Koch, and Charles Dance.
Stan is reported to play the villainous Harvey Dent, while Johansson is expected to be involved in a romantic relationship with Bruce Wayne. Matt Reeves returns to helm the anticipated sequel from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin.
The Robert Pattinson-led film will arrive in theaters on February 18, 2028.
