Fans just got a closer look at The Batman Part II in action. New set footage from London shows Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne in a tense scene. The footage shows the billionaire surrounded by angry Gotham City protesters during what appears to be a major public appearance.
Parts of Central London were transformed into Gotham for the shoot, including the steps outside St. Paul’s Cathedral. In the footage, Bruce wears a formal suit and walks with private security while protesters gather around him.A set photo has also surfaced.
The crowd carries signs, shouts at Bruce, and appears to blame the Wayne family for some of Gotham’s political and economic problems. The scene has already sparked theories about where the sequel could take Bruce.
Some fans have compared the moment to Batman: Year One, where Bruce’s position as a wealthy Gotham figure becomes increasingly complicated. Others have pointed toward possible connections to Anarky or the Court of Owls.
However, there is currently no confirmation that either will appear in the movie.
What else to know about The Batman Part II
Matt Reeves is returning to direct The Batman Part II and co-wrote the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin. The movie will continue the story established by the 2022 film and remains separate from James Gunn and Peter Safran’s main DC Universe. It is being developed as an Elseworlds project.
Robert Pattinson will return as Batman, with Andy Serkis back as Alfred Pennyworth and Jeffrey Wright reprising his role as Commissioner Jim Gordon. Colin Farrell is also returning as Oswald “Oz” Cobb after starring in the Max series The Penguin.
The sequel’s full story remains under wraps. However, Reeves has said the movie will explore Gotham’s corruption and its power structures while continuing to examine Bruce’s role in the city.
Bruce is forced to face anger directed at his family while standing in front of Gotham’s people without the protection of his Batman identity.
The Batman Part II is scheduled to arrive in theaters and IMAX on October 2, 2026.
