Netflix has unveiled the first official teaser trailer for Steps. It is an upcoming animated musical film featuring the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Daniel Radcliffe, and more stars.
Steps arrives exclusively on Netflix on Friday, November 20, 2026. The movie is part of the streamer’s original slate of animated features. These include the global phenomenon KPop Demon Hunters, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Klaus, and many more.
Directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, Steps is a fresh take on the classic Cinderella fairy tale, this time told from the perspective of one of the “evil” stepsisters.

Steps brings together a star-studded cast for its twisted fairy tale
Steps features a stellar voice cast led by Ali Wong, who plays Lilith. She is one of Cinderella’s stepsisters, voiced by Amanda Seyfried. Other notable cast members of the movie include Daniel Radcliffe, Stephanie Hsu, Nikki Glaser, Young Mazino, Peter Dinklage, Bette Midler, and Damian Priest.
Steps follows Lilith, who steals the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand after getting tired of living under Cinderella’s shadow. After hijacking the Royal Ball with her sister Margot, the two accidentally doom the kingdom to the tyrannical rule of Priscilla.
Lilith must now team up with Cinderella to set things right. The stepsisters “fight biker trolls, outrun evil henchmen, and escape the Screaming Woods on an epic quest to save the kingdom, but most importantly, their relationship.”
The trailer showcases striking visuals, electrifying musical numbers, and lively action with a heartfelt story of sisterhood at the core. The tagline in the video reads, “An unexpected tale that will shatter all expectations.”
Emmy-winning actress and comedian Amy Poehler serves as producer for Steps alongside Jane Hartwell and Kim Lessing. The story comes from Ava Tramer, James Madejski, Dana Schwartz, Felicia Ho, Riki Lindhome, and Kate Micucci.
