A former rival of Lennox Lewis has come up short in his ambitious boxing comeback.
Lewis is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time having beaten the likes of Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and Vitali Klitschko in his career, though he did suffer two defeats along the way.
The first of those came when he was stopped inside two rounds by Oliver McCall back in September 1994, though Lewis was able to avenge that loss over three years later.
The second blemish was an upset defeat to Hasim Rahman in April 2001 when Lewis lost his WBC and IBF titles, but ‘The Lion’ secured an emphatic fourth round knockout in the immediate rematch seven months later to capture his belts once again.
Nearly 25 years on from that second meeting, Rahman made a shock return to the sport at the age of 53, as he went up against Phillip Triantafillo in Lowell, Indiana, in what was Rahman’s in over a decade.
Heading into the bout, Rahman revealed his lofty ambition of breaking George Foreman’s record and becoming the oldest world heavyweight champion in history, but his return didn’t go as he hoped as he was beaten on points over six rounds by Triantafillo.

It means that Rahman now holds a record of 50 wins, 10 defeats, 2 draws and 1 no contest, after a career that also saw him face other notable names such as Wladimir Klitschko and James Toney, but it is likely he will now hang up the gloves once again after his defeat.
