Former England winger Raheem Sterling has reportedly been turned down by a struggling European club days after admitting to dangerous driving.
Sterling, 31, has been without a club since being released by Dutch side Feyenoord earlier in 2026.
The Liverpool academy graduate, who has also represented Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, was reportedly offered to three French teams in recent days, according to Foot Mercato.

Raheem Sterling turned down by three French clubs
According to the outlet, Sterling is ready to turn over a new leaf in his career after a tough few years and is open to moving to France.
Ligue 1 strugglers Le Havre are one of the clubs to whom Sterling has been offered, but the Normandy side have decided against pursuing him.
Two other unnamed French clubs have also turned down the opportunity to sign Sterling, despite the player being willing to take a pay cut.
Foot Mercato reports: “Unfortunately for him, the Normandy club, believing they already have plenty of options in that position, preferred to decline the approach despite the player’s impressive CV. A second top-flight French club, whose name has not been revealed, was also contacted by his entourage, but the response was the same. Other, more exotic opportunities are already on the table. It now remains to be seen what direction the player wants to take his career.”
The 31-year-old spent the second half of the 2025/26 campaign at Feyenoord, for whom he made just eight appearances, producing zero goal contributions.
Sterling has not represented England since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Raheem Sterling admits to dangerous driving
The news comes a matter of days after Sterling admitted to dangerous driving on a motorway before crashing his Lamborghini in May of this year.
Sterling also admitted to possessing nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
The winger was arrested after crashing near the M3 and later appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 28.
The crash caused “substantial” damage to his car, with damage to all four wheels preventing him from continuing his journey. Police also found six canisters of nitrous oxide, which is a Class C drug.
Sterling will next appear in court on November 25 and has been disqualified from driving in the interim.
