Hopefully Quentin Grimes can find the bottom of the basket better than he could find his Los Angeles Lakers coach’s Hamptons guest house.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick shared a wild story about a bizarre mix-up involving Grimes during Los Angeles’ media day on Monday.
“[Grimes] brings his friend to Sag Harbor. I’m very detail-oriented, so I provide him the address to my guest house. It’s a very specific address, as all addresses are, right? There’s no wiggle room on that,” Redick said.
“So I give him the [address], and I tell him where the key is to get in. I say, ‘When you walk in, there’s a first floor bedroom, there’s a second floor, second bedroom, make yourself at home. There’s a gym in the basement, everything you need.’ Very clear,” Redick added.
“I get back from golf to pick [Grimes] up, and there’s no one in my guest house. But he has told me that he has arrived, and they’re in the guest house,” he continued.
“So I’m looking all over for him… I go on his Instagram, and he has posted a picture from another house in my neighborhood of the pool. With the hashtag #hamptonslife, or something like that.
“So I tell him, ‘Where the f are you, dude?’ They had gone into one of my neighbors’ homes, and gone into their guest house,” Redick added before saying his neighbors’ house must have been unlocked.
Thankfully it sounds like Redick’s neighbors weren’t home and presumably had a good sense of humor about the mishap when they heard about it. If they didn’t, this story would be a lot less funny.
